Broto
With Broto, Chef Pedro Pena Bastos is trading haute gastronomie for something that honors Portuguese cuisine and is closer to people. Nestled in Chiado, Broto seems to be his most personal project yet. The renowned chef wanted to make something more flexible and accessible, thus introducing a high-end cuisine without the stiffness of fine dining. It highlights Portuguese products and flavors, reminding us that tradition and modernity can both have a place at the table. The restaurant has more than 40 seats and a communal table for 10.
Insider tip: The menu's “À mão” section features delicious starters meant to be shared and enjoyed literally by hand.
