Now leading Powerplant Lisbon's kitchen, João Augusto is a professional chef with a vast experience around other signature venues in the capital – The Food Temple, 1300 Taberna, or Boi Cavalo to name a few. He's also responsible for the short yet masterful menu at Vila Bica. From Portugal he went to Indonesia, where he worked as an Executive Chef at the Aloita Resort.
While abroad, João unveiled a new passion: serving food on yachts. He loves cooking in intimate atmospheres and private dinners, a challenge that makes him happy and complete. In 2019, he got back and started organizing pop-up events and more. Mentor and founder of the Kue Pastry project, he's accepted Powerplant Lisbon's challenge to create a delightful all-vegan menu. The restaurant is located at Selina Lisboa and also offers guests and foodies a different set of events from week to week. When he's not working, João likes getting in his campervan and exploring the country.
