Why 2026 is different?
Portugal's dining scene has never been more exciting. Every year, new restaurants open, chefs take risks, concepts evolve.
Yet many remarkable restaurants remain under-recognised, while others gain attention simply because they are already well known.
For 2026, we are introducing a more rigorous and curated selection process. Our ambition is simple:
Create a selection that reflects quality, originality and relevance.
Celebrate the restaurants shaping the future of dining in Portugal.
Ensure participation becomes a mark of recognition — not simply an application.
The Committee is intentionally small.
We are inviting a limited number of individuals whose work, recommendations and perspective actively contribute to Portugal's hospitality ecosystem
The Founding Edition of the Committee will help establish the standards and selection framework that will guide all future editions of Restaurant Week.
