Breakfast Delights:
Top 5 Recipes with Bonne Maman Jams

Elevate Your Mornings With These Amazing Dishes!

Classic Jam-Filled Crepes

Did you know there’s an annual day celebrating crepes in France? It has religious origins, but nowadays, it’s mostly about having this delicacy every February 2. Our recipe is incredibly simple and quick to make! Pair it with one of Bonne Maman’s jams, and fresh fruit, and you’ve whipped up the perfect breakfast for the whole family. You’ll need:

  • 120g of plain flour

  • 300ml of milk

  • 2 eggs

  • Butter for the pan

  • Bonne Maman Doce Extra de Morango or Doce Extra de Alperce

All you’ll have to do is whisk the flour, the milk, and the eggs together, and pour it in the pre-heated pan with melted butter. Make sure you don’t pour too much mixture so they become thin – remember: we’re making crepes, not pancakes.

Cook for about 2 minutes before turning it over. Let it stay for 1 more minute on the other side and move it to a plate. You can either spread a spoonful of Bonne Maman on one side, fold it into a napkin, or spread the jam all over the crepe, and have it in its original round format. It’s the perfect start for a great day, right?

Overnight Oats
with Yogurt & Jam

Want something more nutritious? Go for overnight oats! With yogurt, fresh fruit, and jam, this is the ultimate breakfast to keep you satiated for hours while having a pleasurable meal. You’ll need:

  • 1 Greek yogurt

  • 60g of rolled (crushed) oats

  • 2 tablespoons of chia seeds

  • Bonne Maman Doce de Morango

This is a super easy one as well: just mix all the ingredients together in a glass jar container (it will look prettier when it’s time to serve it), and let it refrigerate for 8 hours minimum. All you need to do the next morning is take it out of the fridge and enjoy it. Another option is leaving the jam out of the fridge equation, and adding it upon serving – yum!

Mini Apple & Jam Tarts

Who doesn’t love pie? That heart-warming sweet that’s crusty and glacéed on the outside, and soft on the inside. These mini apple and jam tarts demand a bit more time than just whipping up some toast, but they will surely impress everyone in the house – even yourself. You’ll need:

  • 2 large apples (Reineta are the best)

  • 3 tablespoons Bonne Maman Doce Extra de Alperce

  • Cinnamon

  • 2 egg yolks

  • 1 unit of puff pastry

Cut the apple into thin slices. On an oven tray, put together 1 teaspoon of jam, 4 apple slices, and a pinch of cinnamon. Cover it with a cutout of puff pastry. Keep doing this until you’re out of ingredients. It should be enough to make at least 5 mini tarts.

Put the tray in a preheated oven at 200ºC for about 20 minutes (or until the pastry’s cooked throughout). When the tarts are done, take them out to cool off, turn them over, and serve with the apple slices facing up. Even with no added sugars, these tarts will be sweet and delicious!

Waffles with Cream
& Raspberry Jam

Of Belgian descent, waffles are a loved dish in many parts of the globe and are eaten with both savory and sweet ingredients. This recipe is perfect for kids and adults and will surely satisfy those sweet cravings. You’ll need:

  • 260g of flour

  • 125g of sugar

  • 3 eggs

  • 5dl of milk

  • 65g of butter

  • 2 tablespoons of crème fraîche

  • Bonne Maman Doce de Framboesa

In a medium bowl, mix the flour and the sugar. Combine the eggs, one by one, and then add 2dl of milk. On a pan, whisk together the remaining 3dl of milk, and the butter. When the latter melts, bring all the ingredients together in the bowl.

Turn on the waffle machine, and pour the mixture until the grid is covered. Wait for a few minutes and voilà, your golden and crispy waffles are done! We like to eat them with Bonne Maman jam, crème fraîche, and fruit – strawberries and raspberries.

Jam-Filled French Toast

There are several variations of this dish. In Portugal, the rabanadas are a traditional Christmas dessert made with lemon zest and cinnamon. Hong Kongers prefer it a bit sweeter, filled with peanut butter and condensed milk. The origin of this dish is unconfirmed, but scholars believe it dates back to Rome, around 300 A.D. We will teach you a recipe that’s fruity, soft, and sweet. Here’s what you’ll need:

  • 1 stale brioche bread

  • Bonne Maman Doce Extra de Morango

  • 180mil of whole milk

  • 3 eggs

  • Half a teaspoon of vanilla extract

  • Lemon zest

  • Pinch of salt

  • Unsalted butter

Slice the brioche and make jam sandwiches. In a large bowl, whisk together the milk, eggs, vanilla extract, lemon zest, and salt. Heat a non-stick pan with butter and start dipping the sandwiches, one at a time, in the liquid mix – be careful so they don’t get too soft. Just enough to make them moist. Immediately after, place them in the sizzling butter until golden. Do each French toast (dipping and placing in the pan) at a time so they all have the same consistency. What you’ll get? The fluffiest toasts packed with juicy jam!
